The Wilderness Center staff has additional astronomy related events for families. Some require registration and/or fees. Details are listed below. Contact The Wilderness Center or TWC Online Calendar for more information.

Star Watch & Planetarium Show, Fri., Feb. 3, 8 p.m.
Join TWC's Astronomy Club for a Planetarium Show, then view the real things through telescopes. All ages. Free.

Full Moon Walk: Moon of Ice, Mon., Feb. 6, 5:30 p.m.
Walk under the light of the full moon.  This year we're exploring the Celtic names for full moons.  Have you seen ice-covered branches lit by the moonlight?  We may not be that lucky, but we will see ice on the lake or pond.  We'll meet in the parking lot, then go for a quiet walk to see and hear evening wonders.  Readings from favorite nature writers will help us discover and enjoy the seasons.
Dress for the weather.  You may bring a flashlight, but try not to use it.  We'll cancel if it's raining, snowing, or the weather is dangerous - check our Facebook page or website after 4 p.m. if there's any doubt.  Free for TWC members; donation requested from nonmembers.

Your Night Sky Planetarium Show, Sat., Feb. 25, 2 p.m.

We're trying something different in the Planetarium this year!  Join us one Saturday each month for "Your Night Sky."  After a quick update of astronomy in the news, we'll see a star show of tonight's sky.  The rest is up to you - ask questions or bring up some astronomical  topic you'd like to know more about.  We'll try to answer them that afternoon, but it's a big universe!  If we or others in the audience can't answer right away, we'll find out and follow up next month.  All ages.  Free.

Star Watch & Planetarium Show, Fri., Mar. 2, 8 p.m.
Join TWC's Astronomy Club for a Planetarium Show, then view the real things through telescopes. All ages. Free.

March winds howl!  It's also a good time to look for animals as they start getting more active for the coming spring.  This year we're exploring the Celtic names for full moons.
