Mike Rossetti, Treasurer
Years lived in Ohio:I have lived in Canton, Ohio for all 21 years of my
life. Unfortunately, I know a sky that yields only poor viewing.
Profession (day job):I have completed two years at Walsh University, located in North Canton, Ohio. I will have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Theology after two more years. I plan to pursue mathematics to the Ph.D. level.
Years with the club: I am in my second year with the club, still a tenderfoot.
Club positions held: This is my only position thus far. I have given two
planetarium shows, contributed an article to the Horizon (our quarterly
publication), and help to edit our web page.
Years observing: I started learning the constellations in the Autumn of
1998. I bought my first and only scope in the Summer of 2000, after
borrowing club scopes since Winter 1999.
Formal astronomy training: Nothing formal. I read a lot.
Special projects: I like to bring astronomy to those who have no
acquaintance with it, which includes almost everyone who is not an amateur astronomer or an interested professor. I particularly enjoy learning about the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI).
Scopes presently owned: I recently purchased my first and only scope. It's an Orion SkyQuest 8" f/6 Dob. It is a wonderful scope.
Type of observing most interested in: Everything! Actually, I'm starting to enjoy particular objects: double stars, galaxies, clusters, Saturn.
Visions for the club: I love feeling that the club has much knowledge and
friendship to offer. I would like the club to consider relentlessly ways to
use it's talents.Return to Officers
